| The PTL-3/SST MicroFire Explorer III tactical flashlight uses the high brightness Luminus Phatlight SST-50 LED in a matte black aluminum body. US made SST-50 LEDs efficiently harness light from a small, single chip point source, producing a penetrating beam of white light with a bright, even field. A tactical button on/off switch mounted at the rear of the compact body selects full, low, or strobe operating modes. The Explorer III is non-rechargeable, using three CR123A batteries in a removable battery magazine. Unlike the MicroFire HID Terminator series, the SST-50 LED comes instantly to full brightness with no warm up time. At full brightness, the Explorer III can be expected to have a run time of up to 60 minutes, 10 hours at low brightness (patrol) mode and 120 minutes in strobe mode. This handsome tactical tool is ultra compact, with a shaped aluminum water resistant body that fits comfortably and securely in the hand. The Explorer III includes three CR-123A batteries and a belt mount tactical pouch. |
